I’m Dr. Angella Faith Montfaucon (née Lapukeni), a Senior Economist in the Europe and Central Asia Region of the World Bank, based in Tirana. In Albania, I lead policy dialogue on macro‑fiscal and trade policy and growth, flagship economic reports and policy-based budget financing. At the regional level, I co‑lead the Western Balkans Regular Economic Update and analytical work on trade policy and competitiveness. Previously, I was based in Jakarta, covering Indonesia, Fiji, Vanuatu, and contributing to analytical work in the Philippines. Prior to joining the Bank, I worked on fiscal operations and analysis at the Reserve Bank of Malawi. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Yokohama National University and I am a Malawian national.
